EXEC statement
• The purpose of EXEC statement is to identify the program or cataloged or in-stream procedure that this job steps is to execute and to tell the system how to process the job step. • It also gives the information required by the system for the execution (like time, memory etc., ) • The EXEC statement marks the beginning of each step in a job. • Through EXEC statement, mainly program name or proc name is specified. • A job can be executing multiple steps and each step is identified by an EXEC statement and it must have a step name also. |
